What’s up with all this waiting? My heart is pounding, my mind is spinning, my whole being is nearly falling apart with all this craziness. All my emotions are coming out on all directions and I can’t control them. My soul is screaming, I can feel it. It’s frustrated and losing patience.
Breathe in, breathe out, I tell myself. But all I can feel is the tight knot in my chest.
These are hard times, no doubt about that. Most of us, if not all, are drowning in this mess of economic crisis, international chaos, internal personal battles, etc. It’s hard to see let alone feel that better days will be coming. With so much we have to deal with, it’s understandable that a lot of us are under great stress and fear.
But if there’s anything I’d like to emphasize is this: have faith and believe in yourself. Focus on your interests or hobbies, and remember what it was like for you to enjoy that personal time to yourself. Try something new or something you’ve always hesitated to try. Spend time with people you are comfortable with in silence and share stories about the past, present, and future. Don’t bury your sorrow, but rather accept it, grieve if you may, but do not dwell for too long or else you will end up very miserable for a very long time. Walk around memory lane and feel those emotions that keep flashing back. Feel them as if you’re experiencing them one more time.
Treasure those moments that made your heart smile. Appreciate what you have, and look forward to more beautiful moments. Be open and aware of the things and people around you, for it will serve as guidance toward happy days and more meaningful experiences.

Do you know what sorrow the rain can inspire?
Do you know how gutters weep when it pours down?
Do you know how lost a solitary person feels in the rain?
Endless, like spilt blood, like hungry people, like love,
Like children, like the dead, endless the rain.
[an excerpt from the poem “Rain Song” by Iraqi poet Badr Shakir al-Sayyab]
I’m Starting With The Man In
The Mirror
I’m Asking Him To Change
His Ways
And No Message Could Have
Been Any Clearer
If You Wanna Make The World
A Better Place
(If You Wanna Make The
World A Better Place)
Take A Look At Yourself, And
Then Make A Change
-Michael Jackson, Man in the Mirror
“Right by your side” by James Morrison
You know I remain right by your side
Push through the rain and into the fire
‘Cause when I said I loved youIts just what i meant
So when you asked me where was I when
Every time I was right by your side
The way I constantly stare at your lips, waiting for that beautiful slight curve that causes me goosebumps. How odd, that such a simple move could cause so much joy.
